Rio Palace Salon

I live in NYC for over 20 years, and during all this time, the best hair cuts I've had was when I was traveling in Brazil... Until I met Pedro, the hairdresser at Rio Palace Salon in Astoria, NY. Pedro is a great hairdresser and also a wonderful person.

I've notice that lately, maybe out of pressure for selling products or competing for becoming the hair guru of a new costumer, many hairdressers are a sort of bullies. They have more negative things to say about the costumer's look then positive ones. That is not the case with Pedro. To give an example, he accepted working with the hair color I brought even though he advised me that the brand I use was well known for leaving the hair very dry (I knew that, but always sacrificed color for texture). There was no judgment from his side when I decided to keep using the same product. During the application of the color (I only needed to do my roots), he used a special cream to protect the rest of my hair from getting dry. He said nothing about the cream, just explained to me that he was protecting my hair. My hair was beautiful at the end of his work (and with great texture!). Needless to say, I bought the cream he used and he got a new client!
